An Old Barn Near the Smoky Mountain Nature

For some unexplained reason I am attracted to photograph old barns. I have a number of them in my collection of photos from north Georgia, the Carolinas, Tennessee and the Smoky Mountains. The first one that I photographed was located in Townsend, Tennessee.  It’s just a stones throw away from the entrance to the Smoky Mountain nature.  It sits directly behind a motel that my wife and I always stay at.  I got up one early morning and went out on the balcony to have my coffee.  It was extremely foggy out that morning.  I could see the barn though and it was completely veiled in the fog.  It took on a mystical and moody look.  I knew that this was a photo opportunity that I did not want to miss.  I got a great shot of the old structure and soaking wet up to my knees because of the morning dew but it was worth it.
