A job as a medical coder is very important to the industry of medical and health care. Therefore, it is logical that people who work in the medical coding field work at places such as hospitals, doctor’s offices, clinics, and nursing homes. A medical coder will work full-time, which is a standard 40-hour week. Usually he or she will work during the day, but at hospitals that are open 24/7, a person can choose between working day, evening, or night shifts. There is also a high demand for medical coders to work at places such as law firms, home health care agencies, and insurance agencies.
