How To Recognize And Avoid PayPal Scams

    July 26th, 2010 by admin

In order to protect yourself while doing transactions with PayPal, PayPal suggests, in its FAQ section, that you log into PayPal by typing the URL into the address bar instead of clicking a link within an email. There have been reports of an e-mail purporting to be from PayPal. It informs you of some suspicious activity within your PayPal account. When you click the embedded link, you’ll be directed to a copy-cat site where you’ll be asked to enter your log-in information. The paypal alert scam is a phishing scam. When you enter your log-in information, the site will take note of that and use it to drain your PayPal account of funds. Be wary of such emails. If you’re not sure, just go directly to the PayPal website and log in there. Do not click any link from within any e-mail, no matter how genuine the e-mail looks.
