    How to Band Hemorrhoids

    July 16th, 2010 by admin

To band hemorrhoids is to tie off hemorrhoids with a band or rubber using a special instrument. A local anesthesia is used prior to the surgery. The procedure takes only a few minutes and is barely painful. After 6-10 day, the tissue will just fall off. Discomfort may be experienced by the patient after the procedure but this is far less than surgical hemorrhoidectomy and is easily controlled with local pain medication applied topically. Furthermore, a patient is advised to take sitz baths ( sitting on a warm water)more often, eat foods that promote the softening of the stool and drink a lot of water to create soft bulk of stool during bowel movements.
