Hold on to Instruction Manuals For Stanley Garage Door Openers

A few months after I bought a house with a terrific garage door opener, it broke down and I got my first lesson in troubleshooting these systems. The first thing I found out was that I had one of several stanley garage door openers which had been installed on homes in our neighborhood. The company had gone out of business and the previous owner had not kept the manual. The Internet solved my problem for me because I was able to locate the instruction manual online, determine which part I needed, and order it. Everything worked out in the end, but if I had one piece of advice for owners of garage door systems, it would be to keep the manual, especially if it’s a Stanley.
