A Little Help Won’t ever Hurt Anyone

Although Andrea was a very proud woman, perhaps because of her upbringing, she soon realized that she needed a little financial assistance. She didn’t have a job at the moment (hadn’t had one in three months, actually) and she knew she needed to take a few computer courses to stay relevant in today’s technology-driven world. More than one prospective employer had told her that no one would hire a transcriptionist who used a typewriter and a foot-pedal nowadays; everyone used computers and transcription software. She really needed to learn some computer skills. She decided to apply for unemployment benefits after one year had passed and she still couldn’t find a job. When she received her benefits, she enrolled in a basic computer knowledge course and was able to find a job and go off unemployment a few months after that.
