    Yankees Owner Kicks the Bucket

    Yankees owner George Steinbrenner , died today in a Florida hospital at age 80 victim of a heart attack , local media reported .

    Apparently , Steinbrenner suffered in the attack Monday night massive heart at his home in Tampa (Red Sox vs. Yankees Tickets) and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died.

    “He ( Steinbrenner ) was a great and compassionate man , “said in a statement his family.

    ” He was a visionary and a giant in the world of sport. Acquired a great franchise with difficulties and became champion again, “he said.

    Steinbrenner bought the Yankees in 1973 and was known as ‘ The boss’ . Under his leadership , the team won the league eleven times American and won seven World Series titles
