Pros and Cons of Entering Accelerated Nursing Programs

October 31st, 2009 by admin

College graduates who want to enter the nursing profession but who do not have nursing degrees often consider entering Accelerated Nursing Programs. That is understandable; after all, with such a program it can take as little as 12 months to just three years to acquire a degree in nursing. Apart from the time saved, another benefit accelerated nursing students and graduates can realize is their attractiveness to potential employers, who perceive them to be more skilled and have better work skills and attitudes. On the downside, there is still a need for financial assistance for students, though companies and governments are working to rectify this. The grade requirements for students can also be higher, and the study load too. It can be a challenging experience, but a rewarding one in the end.
